杨立光（1917－2000）。湖北武汉人，曾任湖北省美术学院教授、副院长、油画硕士研讨 生导师。中国美协会员、中国湖北分会主席，湖北省文联委员。1917年10月21日生于武昌。1935年2月，考入武昌艺术专科学校附属艺术师范科（高中部），学习绘画。1938年2月入武昌艺专绘画科西画组学习。1940年底，先生于武昌艺专毕业，1941年2月由重庆励志总社特聘先生任职于总社美术股，专司油画创作。先生于此，兼事金石，且有声名，偶作写意水墨则鲜有人知。1942年，曾有肖像，静物等多幅油画参加全国美协举办的秋季美展。1943年9月至1944年6月被重庆温泉国立社会教育学院聘为讲师，任教于电化教育专修科美术组。1944年，无数 幅油画作品参加第三届全国美展，其中《穿皮大衣的老人像》获当时的教育部颁发的科学文明 成就奖（独一 奖）。1945年秋，油画《红纱巾》、《蒋南圃像》参加全国美协举办的美展。
