陈西川，别名陈熙春，湖南邵阳人。擅长油画。1955年毕业于鲁迅文艺学院绘画系，1958年入地方 美术学院教师进修班。历任内蒙古师范学院教师，天津轻工业美术设计公司美术设计，湖南省邵阳市群众艺术馆美术工作室主任。作品有《选我们的称心人》、《晚风》、《善良的主人客人多》等。
陈西川先生是中国著名的美术家和美术教育家，5 十年代前后 在鲁迅美术学院、地方 美术学院学习，师从于美术大师吴作人、艾中信先生，毕业后分配到内蒙古师范学院任教。文革前夕回家乡在邵阳市群众艺术馆从事美术辅导工作，几十年如1 日，怀着对美术教育的挚爱，以强烈的责任感和高尚的人品及执着的事业心和扎实的专业实力，呕心沥血，辛苦 耕耘，培训学员数以万计，其中出自先生门下在各大美院深造，活跃在各个领域的美术与设计专业人才数以千计，有的更是成绩卓然，出名 中外。前后 受到地方 、省、市电视台、报刊专题报导和表彰。现为中国美术家协会会员、邵阳市美术家协会名誉主席。作品有《选我们的称心人》、《晚风》、《善良的主人客人多》等。
