于名川，原人民美术出版社编辑室主任，《中国艺术》主编，自幼习画，擅长中国画、水彩画。毕业于地方 美术学院附中，在校期间出版、发表过年画、壁画等作品。现任职位中国美术家协会会员，全国美协插图装帧艺术委员会名誉主任，中国书法家协会会员。

艺术年表

1940年生于山东烟台市；

1954年，14岁即参加烟台美术研讨 会；

1956年，16岁便在《烟台工人日报》、《大众日报》上发表速写、水彩、漫画、剪纸等作品；

1961年毕业于地方 美术学院附中；

1962年在地方 工艺美术学院进修；

1982年调入人民美术出版社，负责创办并主编了大型美术期刊《中国艺术》；

曾任职中国对外文明 联络委员会美术编辑、设计；

邮电部邮票发行局室展科科长；

人民美术出版社期刊丛刊编辑室主任；

兼任中国美协插图装帧艺委会常务副主任；

中国教育电视台《书画赏析》栏目主编；

第九、十、十1 届全国美展评委及多项国家级艺术展览的评委；

曾受国家委派到苏联、意大利、法国、德国等十几个国家进行美术工作及文明 艺术交流；

在《人民日报》、《中国文学》、《美术家》、《版画世界》等国家级报刊上发表有关美术的评论文章几十篇。

艺术评价

于名川对艺术的见解不同普通 ，颇有深度，他的绘画基础很扎实，人更是有才气，知识面广，凭着他的才能加勤奋，可以说搞1 样精1 样，非常难得。他的水彩画带有浓厚的中国画特点，言语 简练，颇成心 境；他的水墨画融进了不少水彩画及设计的艺术言语 ，打破了中国画笔墨的程式框框，是中国的墨韵与水彩的彩韵交相辉映，形成 1 种透明的情趣和韵律，自有1 种新意。

 Yu Mingchuan, former editor-in-chief of the editorial room of People's Fine Arts Publishing House and editor-in-chief of Chinese Art, has learned painting since childhood and is good at Chinese painting and watercolor painting. Graduated from the attached middle school of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, he published and published New Year paintings, murals and other works. Born in Yantai City, Shandong Province in 1940;

In 1954, he joined Yantai Art Research Association at the age of 14.

In 1956, at the age of 16, he published sketches, watercolours, cartoons and paper-cut works in Yantai Workers'Daily and Mass Daily.

Graduated from the attached middle school of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1961.

He studied in the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in 1962.

In 1982, he was transferred to the People's Fine Arts Publishing House and was responsible for founding and editing a large-scale art periodical, Chinese Art.

He has been an art editor and designer of China Foreign Culture Liaison Committee.

Head of Exhibition Section, Stamp Issuance Bureau, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications;

Director of Editorial Office of Periodicals Series of People's Fine Arts Publishing House;

He is also the executive vice director of the Illustration and Binding Arts Committee of China Association of Arts.

Editor-in-chief of the column "Appreciation of Calligraphy and Painting" of China Education Television Station;

The judges of the 9th, 10th and 11th National Art Exhibition and several national art exhibitions;

He has been appointed by the state to conduct art work and cultural and artistic exchanges in more than a dozen countries, such as the Soviet Union, Italy, France and Germany.

He has published dozens of commentary articles on Fine Arts in the People's Daily, Chinese Literature, Artists, Print World and other national newspapers.

Art Evaluation

Yu Mingchuan's opinions on art are different and general. He has a solid foundation of painting. He is talented and knowledgeable. With his ability and diligence, he can say that he is as good as he is, and very rare. His watercolor painting has strong characteristics of Chinese painting, concise language, quite artistic conception; his watercolor painting blends many artistic language of watercolor painting and design, breaks the frame of Chinese painting brush and ink, is the combination of Chinese ink rhyme and watercolor rhyme, resulting in a transparent taste and rhythm, and has a new meaning.
