钱君陶1906.12—1998.8)，原名原名钱锦堂，字玉棠，後更名涵，亦作安，又更名瑭，亦作唐，学名锦堂，以字行，笔名白蕊先、程朔青等，斋号午斋、豫堂、冰壶生，颜其居室曰：白川尾、海月庵、无倦苦斋等。 本籍 浙江省海宁，浙江省桐乡县人。
擅书籍装帧,擅长中国画。1925年毕业于上海艺术师范学校，从丰子恺学习西洋画，并自学书法、篆刻、国画。擅装帧美术及篆刻、书法。1948年于上海举行个人书画篆刻作品。
曾为茅盾的《蚀》、巴金的《家》、《春》及《小说月报》、《东方杂志》、《教育杂志》、《妇女杂志》等刊物设计封面。
生前为任开明书店编辑、万叶书店总编辑、人民音乐出版社、上海音乐出版社副总编辑、西泠印社副社长、君陶艺术院院长、华东师范大学艺术教育系教授、中国美术家协会会员、中国书法家协会会员、中国音乐家协会会员、
上海市美术家协会常务理事、上海市书法家协会名誉理事、西泠印社副社长、华东师范大学艺术教育系教授、桐乡市君陶艺术院院长、海宁市钱君陶艺术研讨 馆名誉馆长。
作品有《向日葵》、《古柏》等。出版有《春梦恨》、《中国儿歌选》、《小学校音乐集》、《长征印谱》、《钱君陶作品集》、《鲁迅印谱》、《钱君陶印存》、《君陶印选》，及《海月庵印剩》、《无倦苦斋印剩》》、《钱君陶书籍装帧艺术选》等数十卷 。 编有《钱君陶篆刻选》，编藏印《豫堂藏印甲集》、《豫堂藏印乙集》、《丛悴堂藏印》 。 并与叶潞渊合著《中国玺印源流》，有日译本 。出版有美术短篇论集《艺苑论微》、《钱君陶作品集》。

钱君陶早年在家乡随邑人孙增禄、徐菊庵习《芥子园画传》、《晚笑堂画传》。长大后，入读上海艺术师范学校 ，从李叔同弟子刘质平、丰子恺及吴梦非习度曲、绘画、图案，与陶元庆同窗。
1925年毕业，受聘浙江艺术专科学校图案教授，后回上海任职开明书店音乐美术编辑，兼任澄衷中学、爱国女学、同济大学、复旦大学教职，同时开始音乐、诗歌、散文创作。
1927年秋，拜识鲁迅先生，时往请益，而鲁迅凡有旧书 出版，多由钱氏装帧。又前后 为沈雁冰《小说月刊》、叶圣陶《妇女杂志》、钱智修《东方杂志》、周予同《教育杂志》、杨贤江《先生 杂志》及诸多名家著作担任装帧设计。
画名之高，1 时书刊纷纷以钱画书衣为尊，稿酬亦高，遂有“钱封面”之美誉。
1933年任职神州国光社编辑部主任，续编《美术丛书》。
抗战爆发，两去长沙，与张天翼、蒋牧良编辑《大众日报》，翌年与巴金、靳以创办文明 生活出版社广州分社，旋返沪，创办万叶书店，出版音乐、美术图书。建国后，加入华东美术工作者协会，书店并入音乐出版社，北迁首都，任副总编辑。1956年，回沪组建上海音乐出版社，任副总编辑，1972年退休。
暮年 继续书画印章创作，数度应邀赴美、加、日、新、港、澳展画讲学。
1978年，当选西泠印社副社长。
1987年，桐乡君陶艺术院落成，尽捐所有历代书画、印章、印谱、陶瓷铜石及已作书画、印章、装帧书籍4083件入藏，造福桑梓。
1994年，创设钱君陶艺术基金会于上海。同时举行九旬画展、音乐作品欣赏会。
钱君陶1998年8月2日逝于上海。

著有音乐、绘画、印存、散文、诗歌图书等三十余种。 早年以书籍装帧、音乐、诗歌名世，才华早著。兼攻篆刻，初师吴昌硕、赵时棡，后宗赵之谦，融入六国钱币、镜铭、碑版，遒美典雅，独树一帜 。特擅作巨印及狂草长跋。
画擅大写意花卉，取法吴昌硕、齐白石、陈白阳，喜作芭蕉、山茶、红梅、松柏、荷葵之属，用笔雄峻而不霸悍，墨彩清新而不脆薄，重视 写生，画路开阔，暮年 亦有偶试新法之举。
书工诸体，行楷清新刚健，饶有碑意；擅汉隶，法乳汉简而化为己有，健拔秀逸，别开生面。

钱君陶艺术研讨 馆座落 于浙江省海宁市市区风景区西山山麓。1996年钱军陶先生忘我 地把他收藏的艺术珍品，和 他本人几十年来创作的艺术代表作，捐赠给故乡海宁市人民，海宁市人民政府决定建造该艺术研讨 馆，用来陈列、展现 和研讨 这些艺术珍品，同时开展对外文明 交流和美术教育。原全国人大常委会委员长乔石亲笔题写馆名。1998年5月9日钱君陶艺术研讨 馆正式对外开放。

钱君陶艺术研讨 馆占地l0亩，总建筑面积2800平方米，由上海同济大学建筑设计研讨 院设计，设计根据地形环境特点，建筑的文明 性质和功能要求作了很好的研讨 ，采用了中国传统的建筑艺术与国外古代 化建筑艺术相结合的设计手法，在环境上、功能上、建筑构成上、文明 品位都达到了相当高的水平，整组建筑空间层次丰富、次序和谐，自然通风采光良好，内设1 大二小展厅，其中大厅独立，二小厅相连，大厅常年展现 钱君陶先生创作的篆刻、书法、绘画、书籍装帧的精品，二、三展厅经常举办各种展览，还有接待厅、创作厅、艺术品画廊和接待贵宾的套房。
钱君陶故居位于桐乡市屠甸镇邮电弄，是1 所晚清民居。在那里，钱君陶度过了难忘的青少年时代。1998，钱君陶先生逝世后，桐乡市文物管理部门将其列为保护单位。2007恰逢钱君陶先生诞辰100周年，桐乡市政府出资将故居进行了较为全面的整修。
