余挚(约十八世纪)，字南州，省弟。一作省兄,江苏常熟人。供奉内廷。擅长画花鸟，从传世之作看，画风受到蒋廷锡的影响,花鸟别出新意。《国(清)朝画识、画传编韵》里有记。

其花鸟图册《余挚花鸟图册》共十二开，绘兰花、牡丹、萱花、 百合花、荷花、秋菊、桃花、海棠、玉兰、梅花、腊梅等。花枝上分别点画蜜蜂、画眉、黄莺、绶带、麻雀等虫鸟，构图简洁、高雅，设色明丽妍美，笔法工整细腻，飞蝶、蚱蜢、小鸟的造型准确，栩栩如生，可见画家有扎实的写生功底。

The flower branches are dotted with bees, thrushes, orioles, ribbons, sparrows and other insects and birds. The composition is concise, elegant, beautiful, neat and delicate brushwork. The shapes of flying butterflies, grasshoppers and birds are accurate and lifelike, which shows that the painter has solid life skills.
