钱维乔,(1739-1806)清文学家、戏曲家。字树参,季木,小字阿逾,号曙川,又号竹初,半园、半竺道人、半园逸叟、林栖居士等。江苏武进人。乾隆十年状元钱维城之弟。乾隆二十七年(1 七六二)举人。曾讲学于如皋露香草堂,门前种竹,自号竹初居士。
乾隆三十三年,其妻亡故,为悼念亡妻,取古诗《孔雀东南飞》所咏刘兰芝的故事,作《碧落缘》传奇二卷。情犹未已,又根据《聊斋·阿宝》故事,作《鹦鹉媒》传奇二卷。上卷2l 出,下卷20 出,系演述孙荆与王宝娘两人生死之恋,手法奇特,受到许多江南名士的赏识。乾隆三十四年公车北上(古时指考生一同 赴京赶考),落第滞于京寓,见到明代画家张灵(梦晋)美女、花鸟画各1 帧,笔墨秀润,与唐寅画法相仿佛,甚奇。归里后考据张灵生平,见《张灵崔莹合传》,尤感其事其情之悲,乃作《虎阜缘》(别名 《乞食图》)传奇二卷,演述张灵与崔莹悲欢离合生死之恋的故事,颇受当时士林与梨园之欣赏。因剧中主人公与《西厢记》的张生、崔莺莺同姓,故亦有《后崔张》之名。又因剧中穿插风流名士唐伯虎等人的故事,在乾隆年间的表演 曾轰动1 时。乾隆5 十七年(1792),钱维乔前后 任浙江遂昌、鄞县知县期间,将所作的三种传奇刊于官署,合称《竹初乐府》,有多种刻本传世。
钱维乔学贯古今,诗文博瞻。工书善画。精于音律,晚通禅理。著有《钱竹初山水精品》、《竹初文钞》、《竹初诗钞》、《竹初不决 稿》等,并曾与钱大昕一同 合修《鄞县志》。归里后,于嘉庆八年(1803)购得唐宇昭半园之半为宅度暮年 ,作有《半园之半记》。卒年六十八岁。
钱维乔早岁即工 翰墨,得其兄钱维城之传,为兄代作,已咄咄逼真,而 文秀之气过之。后笔尤苍厚,山水茂密不繁, 峭秀不塞,作家士气兼备。晚岁笔墨尤精,随意所作,疏老苍浑。因作品风格酷似其兄,当时有“常州二钱”之誉。
《春山烟霭图》

“己未”是清嘉庆四年(1799年),钱维乔时年61岁。
图绘树木与山石、水榭彼此 掩映,烟云与湖水缭绕 穿插的江南春景。作者自题仿自王翚(号乌目山人)笔意,然而它又融入了钱氏本身 粗笔中不失秀润的风韵,反映出画家暮年 绘画技法精熟,巧于设景布势的构图能力。

此图山峦堆叠 ,林木扶疏,平湖静水,1 派平和 安宁的江南风光。树叶的画法多样,或墨笔白描勾圈,或以中锋画“介字点”,或仿米芾以卧笔横点取势,不同外型 的树木,显现出不同的神态形貌,可见作者细致的观察力和灵活多变的表现力。图中的山石或勾或皴,显现出葱郁深秀的美感,这与作者长时间 以来追摹黄公望、吴镇的笔墨技法不可分。其许多画作上,都特意标明是仿古之作,如北京故宫博物院藏《山水图》扇页、《松高晏坐图》扇页、《春山烟霭图》扇页、《拟倪黄山水》扇页等等。

Because the protagonists in the play share the same surname as Zhang Sheng and Cui Yingying in The Story of the Western Chamber, they are also named Hou Cui Zhang. Because of the story of Tang Bohu, a famous scholar, and others, the performance in Qianlong Dynasty was a sensation. During Qianlong 57 years (1792), Qian Weiqiao successively took office in Suichang, Yinxian County, Zhejiang Province. He published three kinds of legends in the official office, collectively known as "Yuefu of Zhuchu". There were many engraved copies handed down.
